Overview:

VTiU University’s Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology is a highly-specialised 3-year programme which will cater to students who have completed SPM or its equivalent, and are interested in a career as a medical laboratory technologist.

Students will learn how to collect samples and perform tests to analyze body fluids, tissue, and other substances.

They will learn diverse medical subjects such as clinical chemistry, clinical biology, haematology, hemopathology, histotechnology, immunology, specimen collection and handling, transfusion science, and other such specialised subjects. They will also be trained to think logically and to be very meticulous and committed to detail, adhering always to stringent professional standards, and to be adept at critical thinking.

This Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology will ensure students are ready for a career in hospitals and medical centres, educational institutions, and in clinics and laboratories both in the government and private sectors.

Aims & Objectives:

To enable the students to acquire and demonstrate competent practical skills; identify, formulate and provide creative, innovative and effective solutions to problems while applying knowledge of science fundamentals to medical laboratory technology.
